James Taylor teaches English III and AP Language & Composition. This is his first year at Sharpstown, having taught previously at Wheatley High School in Houston’s Fifth Ward and internationally at The Columbus School in Medellin, Colombia. He has taught grades 10-12 and both English AP classes. This is his eighth year in the classroom, and it was the first thing he ever thought he was really good at…well, besides doing tricks on the trampoline (where he excels like few others).
James was born in Abilene, Texas, has a brother and two sisters and spent much of his childhood in various small, north Texas towns, itching to get out. He graduated in 2000 from Baylor University and decided to go back to school to become a teacher in 2003, taking English and Education courses at Texas State University in San Marcos, commuting from Austin everyday.
He enjoys painting, playing golf, Dallas Cowboys football and loves to travel.
