      We are very excited to announce the launch of the ELA Master's Dinner. This dinner will be held once every six weeks cycle to celebrate 30 students who have lived up to the creed or to "Invictus" in special ways. Each ELA teacher will nominate two students each six weeks to be recognized by attending the dinner. We already have an amazing speaker lined up for our first event October 15th, Mr. Alan Hooker. He is a wonderful motivational speaker who knows exactly what it's like to dream big and achieve great things. We are currently looking for the perfect venue and of course working hard to gather the funding. This is where we desperately need your support.      Teachers outside the ELA department are encouraged to get involved by nominating their own student. We would ask that if you nominate students you help us with the logistics by chaperoning and contributing to the funding.      We all know that our students can achieve greatness and we want to show them that rewards for hard work are real, tangible things they can enjoy. Most of our students have not been outside of the neighborhood and lack the confidence to interact with adults outside of their comfort zone. We believe that this event will help them grow in that area and will also show them that they will be accepted outside of their school and home.
